6 Things That Happen When We Encourage

Here are six things that can happen when we encourage others.

  1. Courage is extended.

We all need more courage.  Life can beat us up at times which depletes the amount of courage we have in difficult situations.  Courage is the heart and spirit to keep moving forward despite circumstances.  Your encouragement extends courage

  1. Hope is handed out.

Your words of encouragement give hope to the hopeless.  Hope sustains life.  Hope is the belief that our reason for existing is greater than the circumstance or moment we find ourselves in.  The constant struggle of life can convince people that there is nothing worth living for.  Without hope people give up.  With hope people endure and thrive.  Hand out hope with encouraging words.

  1. Identity is affirmed.

Affirmation is to strengthen or make something firm.  From the moment we are born we begin the search to discover who we are.  In our search for identity, who we are, we experience many different voices, some true and some false, telling us who to be.  Your encouraging words can affirm someone’s true identity, which allows them to live with more strength and courage.

  1. Eyes are opened to see new things.

When you share encouraging words with people their eyes may be opened to new possibilities never before imagined.  Your words have the power to help people question, challenge and change the way they see the world.  Encouraging words offer people the courage they need to change beliefs that are keeping them less than their best self.

  1. Excellence is inspired.

Encouragement inspires excellence.  Excellence is simply offering your best to other people and life.  When we experience excellence it activates parts of ourselves that then feel joy, peace, goodness and other things that are true and noble in this world.  We all need more courage to live excellent lives.  Average living is easy.  Excellent living requires a lot of courage to be different than the average.  Inspire excellence by encouraging.

  1. Days are better.

You have a positive impact on someone’s day, which ultimately makes the world a more positive place.
